The Players

We all live in the real world, so it would be nice to know who we are dealing with when playing our characters.

It is also important, since we won't be hearing each other's voices or seeing each other to get a feel for each other's personalities.

This is not obligatory, so don't feel guilty by not posting here.

Versions of D&D Played

AD&D 2nd Editon, D&D 3.0, D&D 3.5

Caught the tail end of AD&D with some friends right before 3.0 came out.  Only played like 3-4 quest in AD&D but never really understood it that much since it was my first time playing an RPG. 3.0 and 3.5 are standard now to me.

Campaign Settings

RedSteel up graded from AD&D to 3.0, Forgotten Realms, a lot of Home Brew, a little Eberon and what ever Dragon/Dungeon magazine quest we wanted to run.

Other Roleplaying Games Played

Mechwarrior, Vampire: The Masquerade,  Call of Cthulhu(d20),

Birthplace

Alton, IL

Then moved to Arkansas, Alabama, and now Memphis, Tennessee.

What I do for a Living

Part-Time student during the summer semester and Full-Time student in the Fall.  I work part time at FedEx right now working nights.  Business major, hopefully with JD/MBA in the future.

Family

Married for 2 month as of May 1st.  No kids, although I have 16 nieces and nephews. I come from a large family with two parents, 6 sisters and 2 other brothers.  I am the youngest of all 9 children and my parents just turn 60 this year, my oldest brother is 40.

Other Interests

Computer/Electronic freak.  I love things that compute and I love trying to figure out how they work.  I was raised with a 386 on my dads drawing table and can never forgot the bleeps and bloops to frooger still ringing in my 5 year old ears.
Book/Reading: I love to read and I love books.  I've read all Robert Jordan Wheel of Time series.  Sad he passed away before his last and final book was complete. L.E. Modesitt, great author, can put words to paintings and make an art gallery. Jame Clemens Wit'ch series, good fantasy books, can't put them down. I also like Thriller, Mysteries and there are way too many good authors to name, so ill let you wonder :).
Amarture Writer: I love trying to express my thoughts into words.  I have written portions of stories but have never actually sat down to just write. My stories usally have things to do with: ones own exsistance, personal strengths, personal sacrifce, light/darkness, thought, and humor at ones own faults.
Movies I love watching movies, sometimes just for the sake of just seeing how well the movie was made.  I wouldn't say I'm a critic but I haven't ever seen a movie that I totally hated. Movies that I like are mostly drama, some romance (darn 6 sisters :) ), thrillers, and comedies.
TV Don't watch much TV.  If I do watch TV its usually after its come out on DVD.
Games I love computer games and board games.  Most of my computer games are strategy based or simulating but I do have some RPG that I like.

What He Does for a Living

Software QA for a defense contractor.

Background

William started playing computer games on an Amiga when he was 6 years old. He was a B-average student in High School and something of a geek. However, he never played pen and paper games even though some of his friends did. He graduated from high school in 2005 then attended a college in New York. After a rocky semester (caused mainly by his Everquest playing), he decided to enlist in the Air Force.
Air Force Basic Training went well for William who is, by the way, somewhat reserved with his emotions. Halfway through his training, he was disqualified from service for a minor heart defect he was previously unaware of. While in the medical hold squadron awaiting transfer out of the military, he was introduced to Dungeons and Dragons from another airman. Without even dice to use, he participated in a short campaign with other sickly recruits.
After returning home, William went back to school. He majored in Computer Science with a focus in Software Engineering. He immediately took a job after graduating and is now trying to pay back his student loans.

Family

Single. He is the youngest of his siblings, which include two sisters, both of whom are married, and a brother. He has four dogs: two dachshund and two basset-hounds. The basset-hounds are the only real dogs.

Other Interests

Japanese - William studies Japanese language in his free time. He plans to spend a few years overseas when he has enough money saved.
Tennis
- he used to play tennis in high school, but hasn't since then.
Music - Anime music, trance, dance, techno. He especially likes the violin and the piano.
TV - He doesn't watch television much anymore, but when he does he is partial to: Battlestar Galactica (new series), Law and Order, Stargate SG1, the History Channel, Futurama.
Movies -
  • "And now, a word from our sponsors. Let's all love Lain! Let's all love Lain, let's all love Lain-Lain-L-L-L...!"
  • "USO DA!"
  • "What does the fate of mankind have to do with the fate of my balls?!"
  • "Even if you were right, that would be 1+1+2+1, not 1+2+2+1. - Okay, fine. 1+1+... SHUT UP!"
  • "Get busy living or get busy dying."
  • "Who? - Jack Burton. ME!"
  • "If it bleeds, we can kill it. - Iced that guy, to cone a phrase! - Remember when I promised to kill you last? I LIED."
  • "I can't take it man, my arm, MY F***ING ARM!"
  • "Laugh, and the whole world laughs with you. Weep, and you weep alone."
  • "Who needs reasons when you've got heroin?"
  • "We can't stop here. This is bat country!"
  • "How did you know whose telephone to tap? - I didn't, so I tapped them all."
  • "I know kung fu. - Show me."
Books - The Bell Jar, Red Storm Rising, Arena (the first of the Magic the Gathering books)
Computers - William is a technophile, perhaps even to the point of preaching Transhumanism.
Politics - Both parties suck. Votes third party.
