What a mess.  I knew the mistress had lost it, putting my own life on the line without my consent, putting me at risk for her own purpose. I cannot say I blame her fully; I probably would have done the same in her place.  What I do not accept is the fact she had hidden from me her veritable nature.  Now I have to play the game with these people.  I need to make sure they do not see through my plot.  I will be friendly with them, so they think I have become part of them.
