I finally found time to visit the Chicdell estate.  I had to make by now, as Oliveryn was about to have an audience with his grandfather and I wanted to have a good view of the next assassination attempt I assumed would happen during his journey to the castle.  The welcome was nearly as cordial as I could have ever expected.  I became the procession's guide and led them to the castle.

Just before arriving, the inevitable happened.  Assassination attempt number two occurred.  The assassins are now one-for two as this one fell quickly to Wintersky's arrows and Nyza's missles.  After interrogating the assassin and getting out of him that Groves was behind it, he committed suicide and Ozi added a new head to his collection.

Then we entered the castle and met with Hardun, my second time in a week, but this time I only observed.  Hardun genuinely believes Oliveryn is on his side.  I think I am going to use this to my advantage.  When Oliveryn's plans go into motion, I will relish the anguish Hardun experiences at being betrayed by his family.  This might even be enough suffering before I torch the son-of-a-bitch.

On the way back to the Chicdell estate, we had to fight our way through my ancestor's brood of vampires.  At least I will not have to deal with them when and if I return to head House Artural.
